PAULINE HUYNH

The EDCO Retreat

I’ve cried more this past weekend than I have for the past month.
I’ve bonded closer to my classmates than my floormates.
I’ve revealed more to my classmates than to my best friends.
I’ve danced at an actual dance for the first time.
I’ve completely let myself go for the first time, not caring to hide because I know those won’t judge.
I’ve been isolated from civilization and loved it.
I’ve leaned into discomfort, then jumped into it.
I’ve learned to acknowledge and accept parts of myself that I struggled to cope with.
I’ve learned to let go.

I feel…
Liberated.
Cathartic.
Enlightened.
Exhilarated.
Vulnerable.
Empowered.
