My aunt sent me an email today

pretty much saying that if I ever need someone to confide in, I could always talk to her or email her. She then mentioned how lonely she felt growing up because she didn’t feel like she could talk to anyone without fearing that she would be judged or that the conversation would spread to the rest of the family. When she found a confidant about 5 years ago, she said she felt so relieved, and really started to grow.

I don’t know; I mean, receiving that email was a bit of a surprise, but a very pleasant one. The material of the email was slightly cheesy, but it did make me feel better. I’ve sent similar emails and messages to friends and other people before, but I was always a bit nervous that it came off as “weird” or “cliche.” But it really isn’t–at least to me, it isn’t. It really does make a difference.

But in any case, as pleasant as the email was, I wasn’t sure what to say in return. So I just thanked her LOL. I mean, I already have a few close friends that I confide in–some for specific issues, others for a whole slew of things. And then there’s this blog LOLOL. Biggest confidant ever, and I don’t even need another person. And well, there are just some things I don’t feel comfortable talking about with my aunt. Like boys. And maybe grades. And my goals and dreams. Pretty much everything LOLOLfrit. But maybe someday.
